6 Hr Sightseeing, Shelling & Lunch Encounter
Departing From The Sanibel Marina on Sanibel Island, FL
Do it all! Sightseeing, shelling and lunch at Cabbage Key.
You and five guests can spend 6 hrs on the water with Captain April and do it all!! We’ll head to a barrier island north of Captiva that is only accessible by boat. Depending on the weather and wind conditions, we will head to the pristine beaches of either North Captiva or Cayo Costa, where you can scour both sand and surf for beautiful seashells! Empty shells can be taken home as a souvenir for yourself or as a gift for a loved one to enjoy (no live shelling.) This encounter will give you a little more than 2 full hours on the beach before you need to climb back on the boat and head to historic Cabbage Key. Only accessible by boat, Cabbage Key is rumored to be the inspiration for Jimmy Buffett’s song, “Cheeseburger in Paradise.” A local favorite for not only great food and music, it is also home to a water tower you can climb, nature trails to stroll along, and quite a few friendly gopher tortoises, a threatened species. This Encounter lets you enjoy all that SWFL has to offer! While motoring around, you’ll get to take in the views of our local barrier islands and we’ll keep our eyes peeled for playful dolphins and other wildlife including manatees, birds and eagle rays! Captain April will also provide interesting details and fun facts along the way. You need to enter the water for this encounter so be prepared to get wet. Check out the FAQs for additional information. All Encounters have a maximum capacity of 6 people. (Lunch purchase is not included in the price of this trip, check out the Cabbage Key menu below.)
